Our Story
Using his experience as a founding member of a global Italian chain “Fratelli la Bufala® Mimmo decided to move forward with his own brand “Mimmo la Bufala” and now serves some of the best pizza and Italian food in London.
With many awards and nominations over the last 20 years, Mimmo’s restaurant showcases the gastronomic heritage of Naples with critically acclaimed pizzes, pasta, fish and meat dishes. Unlike marry other restaurants that claim to cook pizzas the Italian way, Mimmo’s real wood fired oven ensures extraordinarily tasty and authentic pizzas, using the finest Italian toppings.
Born in Pozzuoli Napoli and living much of his life in Florence, whatever he is doing Mimmo is always back in time to welcome people to his restaurant to entertain and create an atmosphere, as his passion for food comes only second to his passion for life.
With just one glance down the wine list at Mimmo’s you will see that the wines here have all been carefully chosen to perfectly complement the menu

Notre histoire
Depuis que nous avons ouvert nos portes en 2017, notre objectif est resté le même : proposer des plats et produits typiques italiens à emporter. Notre entreprise familiale évolue en permanence, tout comme notre appétit pour de nouvelles recettes créatives. Notre chef propose des plats traditionnels d'Italie et de Sicile, et expérimente sans cesse de nouvelles combinaisons de goûts et de saveurs. I am so excited to open my new restaurant in Haslemere and I look forward to serving you some of my family favourites and some classic Italian dishes soon.
I have over 20 years experience in managing and working in the catering industry both as an importer and exporter of fine foods from Italy and as a restaurateur in London. I felt it was time to take life a bit easier and start up something for me and my family. The experience I gained from working at United Colours of Benetton and launching Boscoreale, a restaurant which I have now sold, has given me the foundation to start something smaller and more intimate.
My passion is food, family and good company. I look forward to welcoming you to Carlo Independent Italian Restaurant soon and for us to laugh and love food together.
